Nib creep
Ink migrating onto the top surface of the nib.
Nib creep is ink crawling out of the slit and pooling in the nib’s engraving — cosmetic, common, and mostly harmless. Some inks (heavily lubricated or sheening formulas) creep more; some nib finishes attract it.
It only signals a problem when paired with burping or leaking. Otherwise, wipe it or wear it — plenty of writers consider a creeped nib proof of use.
