Posting
Parking the cap on the pen’s tail while writing.
To post a pen is to seat the cap on the back of the barrel while writing. It changes the instrument: longer, back-weighted, sometimes better balanced (pocket pens like the Kaweco Sport are designed around it), sometimes ruined.
Deep-posting designs and friction-fit caps differ pen to pen — reviews here always say whether a pen posts securely, because for small-handed writers it decides usability.
