Springiness
Nib give and bounce that isn’t true flex.
Springiness (or "bounce") is the cushioned, shock-absorbed feel of a nib that gives slightly under normal pressure without meaningful line variation. Many 14k gold nibs — the Lamy 2000, the Pilot Custom 74 — are springy, not flexible.
It is a comfort trait: long sessions feel softer. If you want visible line variation, you want flex or a stub, not springiness.
